Michael Anderson

Partnering with Nonprofits for Social Change

For Michael, leading and developing essential processes and practices for success is essential to his work, and essential for delivering nonprofit success and social impact. Michael enjoys a mix of consulting engagements in his home community of the Twin Cities and working with nonprofits across the country.

Michael Anderson has more than 12 years of experience supporting nonprofits and foundations in strategy development, business planning, and merger negotiations. His career has included time as a Senior Manager with a national consultancy, leading a statewide financial management capacity-building program for nonprofit leaders, and developing grantee due diligence processes for a leading private foundation.

In the community, Michael serves on the boards of Family Tree Clinic and Gender Justice. If you’re in Minneapolis, you’ve likely seen him at the farmers market on a Saturday morning or chasing his two kids around one of South Minneapolis’ amazing parks. His favorite escape is the North Shore of Lake Superior – specifically, the trails at Tettegouche State Park.

Meg Reid

Operations Director and Associate Consultant

Meg is passionate about building effective, equitable, and sustainable nonprofits. Her work centers deep listening and expansive solution-building.

Meg Reid is a process-oriented consultant with experience across nonprofit and small business environments. Her consulting work has spanned strategic planning, partnership development, customer and business development, and operational systems implementation with nonprofits including NeighborWorks Home Partners, The Management Center, Family Tree Clinic, Degrees of Change, Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless, and the Health & Housing Consortium. 

Meg is passionate about building effective, equitable, and sustainable nonprofits. Her work centers deep listening, entrepreneurial thinking, and expansive solution-building in order to design systems that reduce friction and reflect client voices. She develops creative solutions by synthesizing perspectives and adeptly navigating ambiguity. Meg graduated with her Master in Business Administration from the University of Minnesota. She currently serves as the board chair of the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network of the Twin Cities.

As Associate Consultant and Operations Manager, Meg manages internal and project operational systems, contributes to client projects, and coordinates project teams, relationship management, and communications for the practice.

Garnetta Lowman

Associate Consultant

Garnetta's portfolio includes an array of project deliverables with outstanding process on outcomes ranging from marketing and branding initiatives to executive leadership equity and inclusion work plans.

Garnetta Lowman has extensive experience in project management and building strong sustainable relationships through direct client contact. Garnetta has managed a plethora of teams towards common goals both internally and externally. Notably, Garnetta has achieved certifications from the University of Minnesota in Project Management as well as a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion certification. She has a Nonprofit Organizational Leadership mini-MBA and holds a B.A. in Business Management and Spanish from the University of St. Thomas.

As an Associate Consultant, Garnetta will engage her skillset to work closely with the Tangelo Tree team on strengthening nonprofits in strategy and execution while supporting internal projects geared towards overall business development and brand.

Garnetta is an active member of the Facilitating Racial Equity Collaborative (FREC) Core Leadership Team and serves as Vice Chair on the Charities Review Council Board of Directors.

In her free time, Garnetta enjoys spending time with her friends and two children practicing laughter in everything they do.

Charles Blakeslee

Senior Finance Associate

Thorough, analytical, and practical problem-solving enables Charles to tackle ambiguous financial issues.

Charles Blakeslee is a seasoned Certified Public Accountant with decades of public practice experience serving nonprofit and for-profit clients. He holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Southern California and an MS in Taxation from California State University, Northridge. Charles and his wife Carol moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan in 2021.

Over his extensive career, Charles has held pivotal roles, including in industry as a CFO and Executive Vice President, leading a start-up through to a successful acquisition. He has also dedicated time to serving as Board Treasurer for organizations like Save LA River Open Space, focusing on preserving public recreational areas.

Charles brings a thorough, analytical, and practical approach to solving complex and ambiguous financial challenges. He is highly skilled in financial analysis, modeling, and integrating financial strategies into broader business planning and partnership development. His expertise extends to providing clients with valuable Excel tools that enhance operational efficiency.

A member of the team since 2022, Charles has been instrumental in driving client success through strategic financial planning. His role includes supporting clients in navigating critical financial aspects of strategy development, business planning, and exploring partnerships or mergers. Charles values clear communication and practical solutions, ensuring clients receive actionable insights to support their growth and success.

Noah Brooks

Associate Consultant

Noah enjoys getting clients to their desired outcomes through the use of analytical, outcome driven, and impactful tools. Noah's work focuses on getting nonprofits where they want to be.

Noah Brooks is an analytical minded and outcome driven consultant with years of experience in different areas of nonprofits from staff to board member. Noah came to Tangelo Tree Consulting after owning and operating a marketing agency that focused on supporting nonprofits, which will allow Noah to bring several years of project management and business development skills to the work he does at Tangelo Tree Consulting with nonprofits from many different sectors. 

Noah also has years of educational and research experience. Notably, Noah graduated from the University of Michigan with a Master's of Public Health and a certificate in Global Public Health. Before that, Noah graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor's degree in Economics and a minor in Arabic. 

As Associate Consultant, Noah will pull from his experience to support nonprofits in strategy while working to get the organizations to exactly where they wish to be. Internally, Noah looks forward to working with the team on business development and watching Tangelo Tree grow!

Adelaide Rohrssen

Project & Operations Associate

Adelaide builds value-aligned systems that center the needs of our clients and communities. They are committed to advocating for and with nonprofits to create a more just, joy-filled society.

Adelaide Rohrssen has experience working for nonprofits in education, public operations, and directly with boards. Their lens as an educator is always present through their curiosity and commitment to lifelong learning. Adelaide enjoys supporting system development so that nonprofits can sustainably offer their resources to our community. 

As Project & Operations Associate, Adelaide supports the logistics of client projects and the business operations of Tangelo Tree Consulting. They hold an M.Ed. in Elementary Education and a B.S. in Child Psychology from the University of Minnesota. Additionally, they have experience serving on committees for diversity & equity and social & emotional learning. They currently mentor through QUEERSPACE collective.

When they are not busy running around the dog park, you can find Adelaide taking a range of community education classes from ceramics to sword fighting to stained glass.

Trish Fisher

Research and Project Associate

Trish produces highly beneficial information through practical secondary research. Her comprehensive knowledge of various policy fields and sharp writing skills help drive results-oriented research for complex projects.

Trish Fisher is currently a PhD student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison studying sociology. She has over ten years of experience in the nonprofit sector and specializes in qualitative research, project management, writing, and editing. Trish is passionate about helping organizations build more just, healthy, and sustainable communities. 

Judy Pineda Neufeld

Project Partner; Strategy Associate

Judy structures strategy sessions to encourage a bounty of ideas. Her facilitation style invites everyone to participate openly and freely, bringing the best thinking out in a group setting. Her experience includes supporting and shaping team dynamics and helping people advance along their racial equity journeys.

Judy Pineda Neufeld Judy Pineda Neufeld is a highly experienced organizational and leadership development consultant, facilitator, and trainer, with nearly two decades dedicated to supporting nonprofit organizations in strategy development. She is deeply committed to fostering high-performing teams, cultivating future leaders, and guiding the challenging yet transformative conversations that drive meaningful change. Judy is widely recognized for her dynamic and authentic facilitation style, which inspires creativity and encourages fresh perspectives.

Her unique ability to navigate complex issues and bring diverse viewpoints to the table is deeply rooted in her personal experience. As a Jewish-Mexican-American woman raised by two immigrant parents, Judy has a profound understanding of equity, inclusion, and cultural competency, which informs every aspect of her work.

Judy holds an MBA from the Crummer School of Business at Rollins College and a BA from Tufts University. In addition to her professional work, she serves as an elected City Councilor in Somerville, Massachusetts and is a new mom to the cutest one year-old in Somerville. 

Alisha Anderson

Project Partner; Senior Finance Associate

Alisha has finance and operations experience across the private, public, and nonprofit sectors.

Alisha Anderson is a mission-driven finance and operations leader. Most recently, she served as Senior Director of Strategy and Finance at Pineapple Energy, leading M&A, fundraising, and financial planning and analysis functions. She previously spent five years at Avascent, a strategy and management consulting firm serving clients operating in government driven markets. She also brings experience in early-stage impact investing (e.g., Stanford GSB Impact Fund, Knife Capital) and nonprofit work (e.g., strategy fellow at San Francisco Goodwill).

Alisha holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business where she focused on social impact and impact investing, earning a certificate in Public Management and Social Innovation. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Notre Dame with degrees in Finance and Political Science.

Marcela Sánchez

Project Partner; Project Manager

Marcela specializes in using the Technology of Participation (ToP) and other facilitation and group problem-solving methods to lead strategic planning, action planning, community engagement, and continuous improvement processes. Her work emphasizes diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the public and not-for-profit sectors in both English, Spanish, and bilingual settings.

Marcela Sánchez (she/her/ella) is an experienced bilingual and bicultural independent consultant. She is based in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area and has over 20 years of experience in program and partnership development, project management, team supervision, direct service, outreach to the Latine community, and strategic planning facilitation. Marcela is deeply committed to strengthening her communities and is passionate about providing accurate translation services from English to Spanish.

Marcela immigrated to Minneapolis, MN from Guadalajara, Mexico, and earned her Bachelor's Degree in K-12 Spanish Education from Hamline University. She lives in South Minneapolis with her husband Lewis, their dog Carmela, and their cat Minnie. Marcela enjoys listening to audiobooks and creating art, particularly making functional pottery at a local ceramics studio.

Melissa Mendes Campos

Project Partner; Research Associate

Melissa is passionate about partnering with people, organizations, and communities of purpose advancing truth, love, and justice.

Melissa Mendes Campos is a writer and researcher with more than 25 years of nonprofit, community foundation, and consulting experience. Her well-rounded background in administrative and program support, grants management, and management consulting gives her a unique blend of perspectives and a deep understanding of social sector organizations and the environment in which they work. Melissa contributes to a variety of projects through qualitative research design, execution, and analysis and is an insightful thought partner and expert writer and editor. Melissa holds a BA from the University of California Santa Cruz, remains based in the Santa Cruz Mountains, and when she is not poring over a report can often be found wandering around in her garden or the surrounding redwoods.
