Announcing Our New Name

Announcing Great Changes from Michael Anderson Consulting…

Hello Everyone-

You are receiving this email because in one way or another, you are a supporter of our work, and we have something big to share! And we wanted to share the news with you first, ahead of our public announcement on October 1. Last fall, we began the journey of finding a new name for our practice to replace “Michael Anderson Consulting.” And although I’d like to say as the founder that I put a lot of pride into naming the practice after myself back in 2018, I honestly just typed in the first thing that came to mind to simplify the process of registering the business.

We were never truly named, and I’ve been eager to change the name since our second team member joined the practice in 2022. Now, the practice is growing (stay tuned for further news on our growth soon!) to involve the talent of many more individuals, with clear shared values that guide our collective work, and a culture that deserves a title beyond the paperwork shortcut I took on naming the practice.

To find our new name, we facilitated live and virtual workshops and researched and vetted several options (almost 400! so yeah, we needed a minute ) to find a unique and memorable name that reflects our values of community, equity, collaboration, responsiveness, and integrity. We seriously considered the option favored by the youngest in my household, “Cheese is Good,” but ultimately wanted to be more inclusive to our vegan audience.

We’re excited to announce our new name, Tangelo Tree Consulting.

The tangelo tree, a unique citrus fruit hybrid, thrives not by chance, but through intention and care. It reminds us that in partnership, we can create transformation. And in adaptation, we find new ways to thrive.

For me, the tangelo tree also holds deep personal significance. The tangelo tree represents special memories with my grandfather that demonstrate a few of his finest attributes: steadfastness, thoughtfulness, simple pleasures, and generosity. Near the end of his life, my grandfather went out of his way to remind me to leave the harvested tangelos out overnight to enjoy the fruit at its best the following day. Even now, the tree in his backyard continues to yield abundant fruit, a symbol of the lasting impact of his intention and care on the lives of those around him. We strive for that impact here at Tangelo Tree Consulting.

Our new website (www.tangelotree.org) will launch on Tuesday, 10/1. Be sure to check it out then to read more about the name change, see some fun pics of my grandpa and me at the tangelo tree, and learn more about how we can help your nonprofit.

Thank you for your continued support,

Michael Anderson
